GardenScape offers a variety of events to complement and aid in the enjoyment of its displays. There is GardenScapealways a lot to see and do. You could watch an expert tend a bonsai specimen, or see a master builder construct a natural stone wall.

Preview Reception - "A Taste of Spring" Print

Get a taste of Spring before the arrival of the new season. Preview ReceptionThe Preview Reception on Wednesday evening allows you to view the show before it opens to the public. Walk though the gardens, listen to live music, sip a drink and enjoy hors d'oeuvers between 5:30 and 8 pm, with the proceeds benefiting the Epilepsy Foundation of Rochester, Syracuse and Binghamton.

As the "charity of choice" of the GardenScape Professionals, the Epilepsy Foundation works to remove the stigma of epilepsy and help people with epilepsy and related disabilities reach their potential.

Friday Night Live at GardenScape Print

It is a fun, casual evening with great live rock n roll by Reporter amid warm, sweet smelling, visually stunning gardens! As they twist and shout, visitors are transported to a wild, lavish springtime party in the backyard - an inexpensive vacation from the dreary Rochester winter without the hassle of baggage, immigration and security pat downs! Admire the gardens in bloom as only Rochester's premier landscapers can design them! One night only - dance the night away at Rochester's most exclusive spring party getaway, Friday Night Live at GardenScape!

Masquerade BallHeld after show hours on Friday, Friday Night Live at GardenScape provides guests a chance to enjoy music, dancing, and free food amid the gardens. Friday Night Live at GardenScape  tickets are purchased separately but allow guests to arrive early to view exhibits and visit vendors during show hours, before the party in the gardens begins at 8:30pm.

Children's Garden 2011 Print

One of the GardenScape traditions is the Children's Garden, e_kidsa place for our younger show goers to have fun, explore, and learn about our green world.Each year's show has its own setting and activities for the children, but the experience is always informal, a bit creative, certainly "hands-on" - and always fun.

Welcome to Cave Rock!

GardenScape 2011

Calling all Cave Boys and Cave Girls!  Little ones are invited to come  have a rockin good time at our prehistoric  garden party!  Get decked out in Cave gear and have your picture taken in an "authentic" Cave Mobile.  Check out the prehistoric wildlife and make your own special planting to take home as a souvenir!

Among the activities for past Children's Gardens:

  • Face painting
  • Magic Shows
  • Painting flower pots then planting marigolds to take home
  • Making a balloon terrarium to take home and watch it grow

As always, adults are invited to join in on the fun!

 

 

Early Bird Breakfast Tour Print

Our Early Bird Breakfast Tours on Friday or Saturday mornings are Early Bird Breakfast Toura great chance to leisurely view the exhibits outside of the public show hours.

The program runs from 7a.m. until 9a.m., and you'll start your morning at the show with a casual, hot breakfast catered by the event sponsor, D & R Depot Restaurant of LeRoy. You can eat among the landscaped displays, then stroll through the show.

Stage Performances Print

Throughout the four fantastic days of GardenScape, visit the Wood Tex Products Main Stage in the Stage PerformancesDome area for a varied program of entertainment from local and national performers, entertaining guests with short presentations every hour. Lively performances  from GardenScape veterans including Desert Rhythm, Young School of Irish Dance and Striking Strings Hammered Dulcimers will put a spring in your step while members of Associated Florists of Greater Rochester will amaze and entertain you with their quick wit and clever floral designs!
